How would you react if the U.S. stated it was ready to help bail Ireland out of its debt crisis?

I really don't expect the U.S. to make such a move. Everyone knows it would be political suicide for any politician who supported such an idea.

Yet there are politicians in Europe who are ready to spend $100 billion to bail Ireland out of its debt crisis. So somewhere, someone like you is getting the news that their country is about to pay for the debts of another country. And strangely, the Europeans don't seem too outraged by this.|||The Federal Reserve will bail them out and you wont even know about it because they are not required to tell us or the congress.|||Because Ireland's economy overheated in part due to the inappropriately low interest rates from the European Central Bank. These rates suited Germany and France, but they were awful for Ireland. As such the ECB has a level of responsibility for Ireland's economic wellbeing.

Plus, given the common currency, if Ireland's economy went entirely bust it would be bad for all member states using the euro.

Plus the money is to be paid back. It's a loan, not free money.

You should do research before asking ridiculous questions.|||Conservatives majority in Congress in Jan.- would never pass anything to bail out Ireland.

They are on probation! NO MORE BAILOUTS!

They know if they bail out anyone - they will get hammered! They will lose their jobs in 2012.|||Who could have seen this coming? I thought flooding your country with immigrants and extending government benefits to them upon setting foot in country would be a big economic win. Golly, what was I thiniking?|||Good, then open Irish pubs here and we will all get 'good' beer for a change!|||I think other EU countries should do the helping.|||Like we need to kick who ever suggested it out of office ! we are to far in our selves to be bailing anyone out !|||If we got Guinness and Lucky Charms in return, sure.
