The whole of Europe is on the point of being invaded financially by Germany. The French are their usual self snuggling up to the one they think is the most powerful but they have made that mistake twice in the recent past.
Germany already owns the Republic of Ireland, the irish are not allowed to spend any of their money unless germany allows it because of the bail out.|||No they will not. They are saddled with the Euro, and have to foot the bills of Greece, Spain and Co. Britain is still on the Pound.
BTW. Ever heard of the Battle of Hastings? It is when the Normans (French) defeated the Saxons (Britons). In a very military way.|||First, I have to say that today, if neither side had nuclear weapons, Germany would end the UK militarily in a very short time. Britain is no longer an empire and even when they were, they almost lost then.
Second, Germans are driven people. Certain cultures are more driven than others. The Germans and the Japanese may have been bombed into oblivion, but within only a decade or so they were right back on track and are some of the world's biggest economies. Meanwhile there have been many countries that weren't destroyed by invaders and they've done nothing.
It seems UK culture these days consists of thug children and apathetic authority figures. So yes, easily Germany could dominate the UK financially.|||IF Germany didn't have to worry about Russia, US, and the rest of occupied Europe I'm sure they could have taken out Britain.
Remember the blitz? Was a strategic failure on Germany's part, but the British casualties were insanely high.|||No I do not. What I do see is that countries within the EU are getting fed up of being told what to do by people outside their borders, thus withdrawing.|||germany owns ireland, nice try mate|||they did defeat france in WW II|||I think Britain is destroying itself. The germans will just scavenge what's left.|||Of course they can and they will, this whole EU protect started out with just France and Germany cosing up to each other with mutual exclusive trading agreements, slowly dragging their neighbours in (under their terms) over the years until we have what we have today, Germany in particular has ensured that things like the Euro are designed solely for the benefit for German exporters. And they have reaped the rewards accordingly, likewise France has ensured that by what ever means possible it gets a large slice of the pie, outrageous subsidies for it's farmers, generous grants to various french organisations - local governments etc. While they impose the rules they don't actually live by them, the free movement act being one of them, when Eastern Europe joined the EU in 2004 both nations refused to allow them in to work, even though it was both nations that demanded the act in the first place.
But now both nations are starting to get jittery, Germany an economy built on export to the rest of the EU, is finding out that other EU members no longer have the money to buy their stuff and France, who for years have claimed their heavily regulated banking system is the best and safest in the world now finds it's banks have actually been as silly as everyone elses.
