When the whole thing hit, we all knew whose fault it was - the bankers and other financial genii who leant money they didn't have to people who could never earn it and then sold the debts as if they were assets to other dodgy financial groups who then paid for it with money they didn't have, etc. etc. Once the entire sorry shower were bailed out with public money, they set about passing the buck. Over the past few years we've seen the blame passed to government borrowing, public sector pay and pensions, the european single currency and now the entire populations of certain countries. Those lazy, greedy Greeks, eh? They caused all this. Except they didn't.
Who's going to carry the can next?|||Dave - the bankers were not kids, they lobbied for the laws to be relaxed and planted ex-employees into politics and advisory committees all over the place, it was basically a massive crime to strip money from the banking system.
When the bankers advanced defective loans (where it was not their money being loaned), they placed multiple bets on the loans failing, then they used their government plants to recommend 100% compensation when the insurers were wiped out - it was all a sophisticated and ingenious con.|||Lol Gordon the Moron was warned about this,
http://uk.news.yahoo.com/hospitals-brink鈥?/a>
The expensive plans for a national NHS database costing 12billion have also had to be abandoned,
And selling our gold reserves for a 5th of their value didn't help either, Gordon may not have caused the global recession but he didn't help this country to cope with it at all.|||No change on the conservative front. Not only is Gordon Brown is to blame for the collapse of the entire global economy but for every bad thing that ever happened anywhere.

He is officially the most overworked scapegoat of all time.|||Deighton and Sherlock reflect some of my views on this, although Sherlock is being somewhat unfair to you personally.
To answer your question, in the end failure will be an orphan.|||I cant remember if its the jews or the freemasons? Who are the acceptable targets these days? gypsies? Tthose traveller a Dale Farm are surely responsible for forcing people tp take on too much debt or make risy loans|||The next group to blame will be rioting travellers who own Bicycles, just remember, I told you first...
We're all in this together...|||Well Syd this will hurt?
The last people to blame are the Party in power or their predecessors, they are only exploiting the system we created for their benefit.
The economic crisis, unemployment, industrial decline, crime escalation, a Nation of inequality, no cash for the NHS, or education, social support was not created by the Government it was created and perpetuated by you and me, and benefits the Banks, large corporations and the treasury.
What the UK needs is prosperity, the current system creates prosperity for the "fortunate few" above, to the exclusion and at the expense of the Nation as a whole. All other arguments are propaganda or irrelevant!
The only people who can resolve this situation, bring prosperity to all, cure social injustice and inequality and close the rich/poor void before it widens further, are those that created it, you and me!
So what do we do to put it right, how do we save the Nation from further decline, against the wishes of the fortunate few, the Banks, Government and big corporations?
We stop buying imported products, yes that old chestnut! The Banks, Government and Corporations have no vested interest in domestic industrial success, they favour imported goods, the Banks get a rake off on the exchange rate mechanism, the Government benefit from higher VAT and corporation tax and the retail corporations buy products at a tiny percentage of what they charge on the High Street. All these "perks" are at your expense, but don't apply to domestically made goods!
Domestic industry, builds factories, creates jobs, bringing prosperity to all, creates communities that can afford and buy houses, strengthening society, reduces crime, funds hospitals, schools, care homes, all the things that we have forfeit with the explosion of imports and rampant consumerism. The true price of imported goods is not on the label, it's in 2.5 million unemployed, burning city centres, crumbling schools, old people dying of cold, invisible and unloved. All this happening whilst the sales of Mercedes cars are at a 125 year high, Rolls Royce production is up 60% in a year.
At the end of the day it's up to you and me, and everyone else to put their money where their mouth is and stop buying their own unemployment , at an overinflated price, usually on borrowed money.
But whinging is easier, than taking personal responsibility! If we want to chane the World we must start with ourselves. (Gandhi)|||You lot are living in dreamworld.
Yes the bankers acted recklessly ..... but heres a little hint for you ...... they acted recklessly within the guidelines and laws that were set.
Who sets laws? Hmmmm, oh thats right ...... politicians!!
While the going was good, and Gordon Brown was promising us no more days of boom and bust, what was HE ..... I repeat HE .... doing to ensure this? Was he tightening up the economy when he could see it was becoming overheated? When banks were leveraged way past their ability, did he act to stablize things, WHILE the going was good to prevent a disaster?
Nope ..... he merrily sat back and did nothing. It was HIS job to make sure that banks couldnt act recklessly. We already have acts in place now to ensure its less likely to happen in the future, but why werent they enacted BEFOREHAND!
Sorry but this whole ..... its all the bankers fault is tiresome. Yes it was their fault .....but I'll put it this way ..... if you leave a kid in a kitchen with a box of matches ..... and the kitchen burns down .... is it the kids fault? Or the parent who left the box of matches there and left the child unsupervised.
